What is your vision for the development of Noida?

Our main short-term goal is to improve health services in the entire Noida, especially in rural areas. Also, roads, both in the city and rural areas, are a major area of concern. We will work towards creating a pothole-free road infrastructure. We are in the process of improving and upgrading road infrastructure by layering and levelling the roads and we will intensify this work further. Our long-term vision is to look after the interests of the farmers and the medium and small-scale industrial sector.

The upcoming New Noida is also high on our priority list. We are going to acquire twenty thousand acres of land for New Noida. We are working towards timely and smooth acquisition of land, which is important for us.

What is your area of prime concern as an administrator of Noida?

The rural part of Noida is growing at an exponential rate. This has given rise to a major problem of garbage disposal. Keeping this in mind, the Authority has made door-to-door collection of garbage, especially in rural areas, mandatory. Waste management system needs a complete overhaul in the villages. If, for any reason, we fail to do so, the garbage would pile up on the streets. Therefore, we need to strengthen our services. In the next two months, you will see a larger number of e-rickshaws plying on the rural streets of Noida for garbage collection.

Won’t the coming up of a municipal body in Noida help in dealing with the issue of garbage disposal better?

The setting up of a municipal body in Noida is a matter being decided by the Uttar Pradesh State Council of Ministers. So, I do not want to get too much into it, but I can say this much that if a municipal body comes up in Noida, it’ll certainly take care of one substantial part of the work that we do. But I also think setting up a municipal corporation here will increase the financial burden on residents. Municipal tax would be imposed upon the residents to get the requisite revenue, and moreover, the government would also need to pour in additional funds to create and run the new municipal body.

What do you plan to do for the huge population living in the high-rise apartment blocks of Noida?

We aim to make the city green and clean. We will be creating more recreational green public spaces for the people to enjoy. Improving the transport facilities is another major plan we have. In this regard, we will be strengthening the already operational metro network by extending the Aqua line that will connect Sector 142 to the Botanical Garden metro station.

How is the Pushta Road project plan working out?

Noida residents rely heavily on one expressway for inter-sector, inter-city, and airport-bound traffic. A parallel road network will reduce congestion load and improve system resilience during peak hours, accidents, or maintenance disruptions. With increasing traffic expected towards Greater Noida and the Jewar airport belt, alternate routes become more than a necessity. We are facing a few environmental challenges, but we are hopeful things will work in favour of the development.

Tell us something about your journey as an administrator.

My administrative journey has been both enriching and deeply people-centric. I had the privilege of serving as the District Magistrate of Gorakhpur from June 2022 to July 2025, where the focus was on strengthening governance at the grassroots and ensuring that government schemes reached the last mile effectively. Before that, I served as the Vice Chairman of the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) and as the District Magistrate of Balrampur, experiences that helped me understand urban planning as well as rural administration in depth. Across assignments, my approach has remained consistent, placing the welfare of the common citizen at the core of decision-making. My current role is a continuation of that commitment, where I aim to contribute to a more efficient and future-ready urban ecosystem.
