Uttar Pradesh Diwas celebrated at Noida Haat

Uttar Pradesh Diwas was celebrated at Noida Shilp Haat in Gautam Budh Nagar from January 24 to 26. The three-day event featured a variety of cultural programmes, exhibitions, and interactive activities that showcase the state’s rich heritage, traditions, and development journey. Several stalls have also been set up to spread awareness about state and Central government welfare schemes.

Local artisans, craftsmen, writers and performers added vibrancy to the event. A range of cultural performances, including folk music and dance, were organised throughout the day, drawing crowds from far and near. Shiv Shankar Tiwari, a wooden handicraft maker from Jodhpur, said, “Noida Haat is a good place to showcase our work. I have been coming here for the last three years. Things are good, but they could be better. I wish more such festivals were organised here. The authorities should also promote these events well in advance and in a more engaging way.”

In addition to cultural activities, the venue is also hosting food stalls offering regional flavours and textile shops displaying traditional crafts, giving visitors a chance to experience and shop. “I am very impressed with the management. Festivals like these create employment opportunities for MSME business owners and also provide a proper platform for people from different regions to meet and learn about diverse cultures and activities,” said Nimish Sharma, the owner of a women’s handbag shop.

Uttar Pradesh Diwas celebrations are a lively mix of culture, creativity and community, making it an engaging experience for people of all age groups. “I am really enjoying the vibe of the UP Utsav, even though I am unwell. I came here from Delhi with my friend to experience such a programme for the first time. The authorities should organise more such activities to help people stay connected with their roots,” Ms Fatima, a product manager and resident of Delhi.
