Greater Noida’s Tryst with Calendula
Flower Show in Greater Noida in the coming month
Residents of Greater Noida will soon see Calendula flowers at crossings, green belts, and central verges of the city. According to Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) sources, Calendula would be the theme flower this year. On the instructions of GNIDA CEO, NG Ravi Kumar, these flowers would be planted at prominent roundabouts and major arterial roads. The Principal General Manager of the Authority, Sandeep Chandra, on January 16, 2026, held a meeting with agencies for their adoption and implementation.
Chandra clearly stated in the meeting that the saplings should be planted within five days and the flowers should bloom for display at the flower show in City Park from February 26 to March 1, 2026. The Horticulture Department will keep a timely watch on the progress. If negligence is found, then strict action will be taken against the responsible agencies. Chandra informed that 40 roundabouts, 45 green belts and 17 central verges have been adopted for maintenance and beautification.
