HB Team
2025 was the year when Bollywood made a significant comeback with superhits like Chhava, Dhurandhar, Homebound, Diplomat and more. The expectations of fans in 2026 are the same. Fans are expecting Bollywood to deliver some of the biggest blockbusters of all time in 2026 with movies like Ramayana, Border 2, Dhurandhar 2 and many more.
Here’s the quick list of the most anticipated movies from Bollywood in 2026 that you can add to your “must-watch-in-theatres” list:
Dhurandhar Part 2
If you still can’t stop vibing on Dhurandhar’s title track or Akshaye Khanna’s dance after watching thousands of reels, then Dhurandhar 2 should be on your “must-watch” list. Releasing on March 19, 2026, the audience is already waiting to pre-book their tickets for the movie. Dhurandhar became one of the highest-grossing Hindi films in history after entering the Rs 1,000 crore club. It also became the highest-grossing Hindi film overseas, including in North America. The wait for Dhurandhar 2 will be over soon, and we believe the makers will not disappoint the audience.
Ramayana
After photos from the set of Ramayana were leaked in 2024, people were already anticipating watching the “big-budget film”. Then came the teaser in July 2025, and people now have even more expectations from the film. Releasing on Diwali 2026, Ramayana – Part 1 stars Ranbir Kapoor as Ram and Sai Pallavi as Sita, with many notable celebrities included in the film. The music is being given much hype by the makers, and they have reasons for it, as it is being created by the remarkable Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman.
Border 2
Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is set to hit the theatres on January 23, 2026. The film stars Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and supporting actors Mona Singh, Medha Rana and Sonam Bajwa. The “Ghar kab aaoge” remake song has already become the talk of the town, making people nostalgic. The film is releasing on the eve of Republic Day, January 2026, aiming to gain higher profits with its emotional touch. In comparison with Border 1, the sequel talks about young Indian fighters prepared to protect their homeland from a greater threat during the 1971 Indo-Pak war.
Battle of Galwan
Except for the cameo roles that he is getting in some big films like Pathaan, Salman Khan has been struggling with his career lately, with only one hit in the last five years. Releasing on April 17, 2026, Salman Khan's starrer Battle of Galwan has created a lot of expectations in the minds of his fans. Based on true events, the film’s storyline revolves around Indian and Chinese troops at the Galwan region on June 15, 2020, when 200 Indian soldiers bravely defended their territory against a force of more than 1,000 Chinese Liberation Army soldiers.
King
After Jawan and Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan is set to return with what is expected to be an even bigger blockbuster – King. The film is set to release in 2026. Although the dates have not yet been announced, the film may be released around October. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film’s storyline is inspired by a French classic film, Leon: The Professional. The action-thriller is in much anticipation amongst fans.
Other than these, movie buffs are also awaiting Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor starrer “Love and War” by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan starrer “Haiwaan” directed by Priyadarshan.
