This new route will not only make travel faster but also reduce the burden on roads.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced an extension of its Golden Line with a new elevated corridor from Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj. The elevated corridor will not only enhance connectivity across South and Southeast Delhi but also shorten the travel time of metro commuters from Noida to Badarpur, Faridabad and Delhi Airport Terminal 3.
The 3.9-kilometre-long, completely elevated corridor will be an extension of Line 10 of the Golden Line connecting Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj. It will have only two stations between Tughlakabad and Kalindi Kunj, one at Sarita Vihar Depot and another at Madanpur Khadar.
Two Delhi Metro lines—Blue and Magenta--connect Delhi to Noida. With the construction of the new Golden Line extension, commuters from Noida will get easier access to Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) via the Golden Line, Gurgaon through the Golden–Yellow Line interchange at Chhatarpur, and also Faridabad. This new route will not only make travel from Noida to Faridabad faster and more convenient but will also reduce the burden on Delhi and Noida roads.
Delhi Metro’s Golden Line was approved by the Centre in March 2019. It was known as Delhi Metro’s Silver Line between 2020-2023, and was renamed as Gold Line in November 2023 and then to Golden Line in January 2024. The Golden Line has two routes: Line 10 and 11.
Line 10 connecting Aerocity to Tughlakabad (earlier known as Silver Line) will have stations at: Delhi Aerocity, Mahipalpur, Vasant Kunj, Kishangarh, Chhatarpur, Chhattarpur Mandir, IGNOU, Neb Sarai, Saket G-Block, Ambedkar Nagar, Khanpur, Sangam Vihar – Tigri, Anandmayee Marg Junction, Tughlakabad Railway Colony and Tughlakabad. Tughlakabad will serve as an interchange station between the Golden Line and the Violet Line, while Kalindi Kunj will connect the Golden Line with the Magenta Line, creating smoother cross-city travel options.
Line-11 (Gold Line Spur) from Lajpat Nagar to Saket G-Block will have stations in Saket-G Block, Pushp Vihar, Saket District Court, Pushpa Bhawan, Chirag Dilli, Greater Kailash-1, Andrews Ganj and Lajpat Nagar.
According to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), the first section of Delhi Metro’s Golden Line is likely to become functional by mid-2027.
