Cabinet Approves Aqua Line Metro Extension, To Benefit Key Sectors Of Noida and Greater Noida
The 11.56 km stretch will benefit residents and people working in commercial establishments of Sector 142, 98, 93, 145,157, 126, 132, 135, 132, 127, 125, 91, 44 and 128
The Union Cabinet has recently approved extension of the Aqua Line corridor from Noida Sector 142 to Botanical Garden. Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, which approved the extension.
“The Cabinet has approved the extension corridor from Noida Sector 142 to Botanical Garden (Noida). This decision will add momentum to Noida’s development journey. Congestion will be reduced significantly as well,” the Prime Minister wrote on X.
Covering a length of 11.56 km, it will have eight elevated stations and will provide direct connectivity to Noida and Greater Noida residents with other corridors (Blue and Magenta Lines) via the interchange at Botanical Garden.
Once the corridor is operational, Noida and Greater Noida will have 61.62 km of metro rail network also enhancing connectivity between different sectors of both cities.
With this new corridor, many commercial hubs and residential colonies of Noida and Greater Noida will benefit. The sectors likely to benefit include: 142, 98, 93, 145, 157, 126, 132, 135, 132, 127, 125, 91, 44 and 128. Besides enhancing connectivity, it will also stimulate economic activity along the way and ease urban mobility.
