The under-construction underpass at Chaar Murti or Gaur Chowk in Greater Noida West is about 60 per cent complete and is likely to be completed by June this year, Hindustan reported.
About 320-metre of the 720-metre underpass has already been completed. In the next few days, work on the relocation of sewer lines lying within the underpass project area, which have not been done yet, is likely to be completed.
“Traffic at Gaur Chowk had become a nightmare for me. It was extremely disturbing and frustrating to leave home on time and still end up reaching my office in Sector 16 late. It used to take around 15-20 minutes of my crucial morning hours. Due to the rush and uncertainty of traffic, I shifted my flat from Aarcity Regency Park, Gaur City 2 to Block A, Sector 61. If the underpass had been built earlier, I wouldn't have changed my route," says Sheetal Thakur.
Once completed, the Rs 92-crore underpass that will run parallel to Taj Highway will help passengers commuting from Greater Noida to Ghaziabad avoid the bottleneck at Gaur Chowk.
