Getting Stuck In Traffic Jams In Noida? Relief Coming Soon
Free left turns at 3,500 crossroads & T-points to give relief to commuters
HB Team
Noida Authority has decided to take a major step to curb traffic jams in the city. Around 3,500 crossroads and T-points will soon have free left turns, reported Dainik Jagran. This step will help in improving traffic flow, especially during peak hours in the morning and evening.
The Authority is conducting surveys in major areas about the problems that block free left turns. These problems include encroachment by houses, shops, factories, and unnecessary widening of footpaths.
Traffic jams in Noida have become a daily problem. From main roads to internal sector roads, many areas face heavy congestion. One of the main reasons is that left turns are not free at many intersections.
When vehicles cannot take a smooth left turn, they get stuck at the signals. This leads to long traffic lines and delays for commuters. By making left turns free, vehicles coming from one side will be able to move without waiting at signals, reducing pressure on the main areas.
Noida Authority is conducting surveys from Work Circle 1 to Work Circle 10 to identify all the obstacles that stop free left turns. The focus is to remove physical barriers that create congestion at key points.
Roads That Face Maximum Traffic
Some of the busiest roads in the city include:
● Noida-Greater Noida Expressway
● Sector 62
● Kalindi Kunj Road
● Atta Market
● DND Flyway
● Dadri–Surajpur–Chhalera (DSC) Road
● Master Plan Roads 1 to 8
● 45-metre-wide roads
● Internal roads within sectors
These roads face heavy traffic during peak hours every day. Peak hours include timings from 8:00 am-11:00 am and 5:00 pm-9:00 pm.
Main Reasons Behind Traffic Jams
Some of the main reasons for traffic congestion in the city are that left turns are not free at many signals, footpaths have been widened unnecessarily, and there is encroachment by houses, shops and factories, which blocks smooth and easy movement of vehicles. Because of these issues, vehicles slow down and traffic piles up at intersections.
Plan for Renovation and Improvement
As Noida’s population continues to grow, so does the traffic load. However, the number and condition of roads have not improved at the same pace.
