Noida’s Aqua Line Sees 400% Increase In Ridership
The Aqua Line has 21 stations and covers a distance of 29 km
The Noida Metro Rail Corporation’s Aqua Line recorded a 442% rise in daily ridership since its inauguration, Times of India reported. The metro line, which connects Sector 51 in Noida to Depot Station in Greater Noida, saw an average daily ridership of 63,079 in January 2026.
When the Aqua Line service was opened on January 25, 2019, there were 11,625 commuters, which increased to 17,032 by March 2020. Following this, services were closed until September 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Ridership continued to rise, and in November 2022, the figure rose to 43,430 and in September 2025 to 74,370.
The Aqua Line has 21 stations and covers a distance of 29 km. Once the skywalk connecting the Blue Line’s Sector 52 metro station with the Aqua Line’s Sector 51 is operational, ridership in the Aqua Line is likely to increase.
The Noida Metro Rail Corporation is also planning three extension corridors: from Noida’s Sector 51 to Knowledge Park V in Greater Noida, from Noida’s Sector 51 to Sector 142, and from Depot Station to Boraki in Greater Noida, which has already been approved.
