Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath To Lay Foundation Of Semiconductor Unit at Yamuna Expressway on Feb 21
About 4,000 people are likely to get employment in this joint venture company of HCL and Foxconn
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister of IT and Electronics Ashwini Vaishnaw will lay the foundation stone for a semiconductor manufacturing unit in Sector 28 of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) area on February 21. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also likely to address the gathering via video conferencing, Hindustan reported.
The project will be implemented through India Chip Pvt Ltd, a joint venture company of HCL and Foxconn, at a cost of Rs 3,706.15 crore. To be established on 48 acres of land in Sector 28, the facility will be among the six semiconductor manufacturing units approved by the Centre under the India Semiconductor Mission.
About 4,000 people are likely to get employed in this unit that will manufacture display driver chips used in mobile phones, laptops, personal computers, automobiles, and other devices with display panels.
