The Noida Authority may soon sign an agreement with Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) to expand last-mile connectivity via bus services to Greater Noida and Greater Noida West, Times of India reported. The proposal will now be placed before the Noida Authority board, and once cleared, the detailed plan will be prepared.
At present, there is a DTC depot at Sector 16, and the buses ply from Delhi up to Sector 62 in Noida via DND. The Authority is planning to rope in DTC to connect high-density residential and commercial areas of Noida, Greater Noida and Greater Noida West. While standard DTC buses are being planned on arterial and outer routes, smaller feeder buses are likely to ply for better last-mile connectivity.
The Uttar Pradesh Infrastructure and Industrial Development Commission (IIDC) has given in-principle approval to the proposal. It will now be discussed in the board meeting of the authority following which talks will be initiated with the DTC.
