PM Modi-Chaired Cabinet Committee Approves Elevated Corridor Connecting Faridabad With Noida Airport
The Union Cabinet has approved the revised cost estimate of Rs 3,630 crore for the construction of Greenfield Connectivity to Jewar International Airport from Delhi-Faridabad-Ballabhgarh-Sohna Spur of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway on Hybrid Annuity Mode.
The Union Cabinet on Tuesday approved the inclusion of an 11 km-long elevated stretch between Faridabad and Noida Airport in Jewar to the Delhi-Mumbai greenfield expressway.
According to a Press Information Bureau (PIB) release, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the revised total capital cost of Rs 3,630.77 crore for the construction of greenfield connectivity to Jewar International Airport from Delhi-Faridabad-Ballabhgarh-Sohna Spur of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway on hybrid annuity mode in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.
This greenfield corridor will be 31.42 km long, providing direct and high-speed connectivity from South Delhi, Faridabad and Gurugram to Jewar International Airport. The idea of having a corridor is to facilitate multimodal transport convergence between the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, the Yamuna Expressway, and the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC).
About 11 km of the project will be developed as an elevated highway from DND-Ballabhgarh Bypass and Jewar International Airport, linking it to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. The elevated corridor will promote economic growth and logistics efficiency across the National Capital Region (NCR), the release stated.
Of the additional cost of Rs 689.24 crore to be incurred in the construction of the proposed elevated corridor, the Government of Haryana has agreed to bear Rs 450 crore.
